About us

The MHKW Rothensee meets all regulatory requirements, is situated in the region's strategic area for waste management and is considered to be an ideal site due to its advantageous location in Saxony-Anhalt. As a prime example of a revitalised former industrial site, the location allows the MHKW Rothensee to benefit from the outstanding intermodal transport connections necessary for the delivery of residual waste, which enable the plant to be quickly accessed via water, road and rail. The site also boasts several other impressive infrastructural features, especially:

• Ship unloading services available at the port facility or the branch canal
• A rail connection with a comprehensive railway network throughout the entire industrial and business park
• Road links with a direct connection to the A2 motorway to the north via August-Bebel-Damm and with the Magdeburg-Rothensee motorway junction located approx. 3.5 km away
• Good road connections to the inner-city road network via August-Bebel-Damm
• A link to the A14 motorway via the A2 motorway (approx. 7.2 km away)
• An existing district heating system
